Ararat North Primary School community to celebrate 40 years of education

Updated: Mar 29, 2020

Ararat North Primary School is marking its 40th year of educating Ararat’s children with a school community celebration next month, coinciding with the launch of their 40th-year cookbook.

Ararat North’s Principal Rick Elliss said the milestone is an important time to celebrate the school’s presence within the community and practice for what they’ll be doing in another 10 years time.

“It’s really important to mark the school’s place in the town as well. We have been here for 40 years and our role in the town has evolved over time. We continue to do a fantastic job ar serving children in our local area,” Ellis said.

The school is inviting everyone to come along on December 13 at 3pm for the school community celebration.

“Everyone who has had an association with the school, whether they are old scholars, ex-parents, ex-teachers, ex-principals are more than welcome to come along and share that afternoon with us,” he said.

“We’ll have a massive raffle, there’s a cake stall and there’s a book fair on the day to keep in our theme that we are a school. There will be a petting zoo, pony rides, a jumping castle, food galore and drinks.”

Elliss said the school will also share their cookbook with the community, which has “just about everything” you could think of when it comes to cooking.

“It’s a collection of recipes that have come from home, come from teachers, come from families, things that Mums have made or enjoy making with their kids,” he said

The book will also include elements of the school’s 40-year history, with accompanying photos.
